Credit camp to finance rooftop solar plants

Dakshina Kannada district administration will conduct a credit camp for financing rooftop solar power plants in Mangaluru on February 17.

Addressing presspersons in Mangaluru on Friday, Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim said the credit camp is first in the series of initiatives planned to encourage citizens to switch over to the use of renewable energy sources with a special focus on grid-connected roof-top solar systems.

The credit camp will have representations from the financing institutions, Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (Mescom), and government-approved agencies dealing in supply and installation of roof-top solar systems.
