Solar power plant: Chandigarh exempts residents from taking clearance for panel up to 10kWp
The Chandigarh administration has exempted residents from taking mandatory clearance from the electricity department required for commissioning a plant up to 10 kw peak (kWp).
This has made the process of installing rooftop solar power plants (SPV) easy for the residents.
According to the Solar Rooftop and Metering Regulations, 2015, of the Joint Electricity Regulatory Commission (JERC), any one intends to set up a rooftop solar power plant (SPV), has to move an application with a prescribed fee of Rs 50 per kWp to the electricity department for grant of permission in doing so.
After checking the feasibility factor, the electricity department issues a letter of approval or rejection to the applicant.
